Cop Reprimanded – Too Many Arrests, Too Few Tickets
According to the Columbus Dispatch a Madison Township, Ohio cop has been reprimanded for writing too few tickets, not that theres a quota. Officer Ken Braden was reprimanded for writing only 85 tickets, despite tieing for the most criminal arrests.
There’s not a “quota” of course but according to Chief Ryan’s 2005 written mandate:
“Effective immediately, all uniformed patrol officers are expected, as a minimum level of self-initiated activity, to issue one traffic citation, one traffic warning, and complete five park & walk business checks/residential vacation checks each shift worked,”
Speeders beware – criminals have a blast.
